We are pleased to announce that, as of 1 November 2017, the new chair of the Steering Board of the Alternative Banking Dispute Resolution Centre is Mrs. Luminița Malanciuc – the representative of the Romanian Association of Banks in the Steering Board of ABDRC.
Mrs. Luminița Malanciuc, a legal expert with the Romanian Association of Banks, shall take over the office of chair of the Steering Board of ABDRC from Mr. Alexandru Păunescu, director the Legal Directorate of the National Bank of Romania (NBR), and the representative of NBR in the Steering Board of ABDRC. Before, between 2015 and 2016, the Chairwomen of ABDRC was Mrs. Simona Vâlceanu, an independent member of the Steering Board. Mrs. Simona Vâlceanu provided chairmanship of the Alternative Banking Dispute Resolution Centre in its first year of operation.
The Steering Board of ABDRC is formed of five members designated by the National Bank of Romania, the National Consumer Protection Association, the Romanian Association of Banks, associations of consumers, and an independent member. This is elected by the first four designated members. The term of office for each representative of the Steering Board of ABDRC is of 5 years, renewable once. The chair of the Steering Board is elected alternately from the five members, for a term of office of one year.
